One day, every athlete will play her final game.
The final out will be recorded.
The uniform will be put away.
The cleats will eventually wear out.
The trophies will collect dust.
The scoreboards will fade from memory.
But the lessons learned through this journey will remain.
At Valkyries Fastpitch, our goal has never been to simply build softball players.
Our goal is to help build confident young women who understand the value of hard work, commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.
We want our athletes to leave this program knowing how to face challenges with courage.
We want them to understand that success is earned through preparation and effort.
We want them to know how to lead when leadership is needed and how to serve when service is required.
We want them to understand the importance of accountability, integrity, and respect.
Most importantly, we want them to know that they are capable of far more than they ever imagined.
The game of softball is the vehicle.
The destination is growth.
Long after the final game is played, we hope our athletes remember the friendships they built, the obstacles they overcame, the confidence they gained, and the pride they felt wearing the Valkyries uniform.
If we accomplish that, then our legacy will never be measured by championships alone.
It will be measured by lives impacted.
It will be measured by young women who carry the lessons of this program into their families, schools, careers, and communities.
It will be measured by the example they set for those who follow.
Years from now, when former players look back on their time as Valkyries, we hope they remember more than wins and losses.
We hope they remember becoming stronger.
Stronger in character.
Stronger in confidence.
Stronger in purpose.
Stronger together.
That is the legacy we seek to build.
That is the legacy worth leaving.
Strength.
Honor.
Sisterhood.
Warriors on the Diamond.
